American Anime Awards adds two new nominees

by PatrickD

The American Anime Awards, an event to be held at next month's New York Comic Con, have added Tsubasa and Negima to their ballot. Milton Griepp, American Anime Awards Committee Chair, said in a statement on their web site, "The nominations were submitted prior to when the ballot went live but were inadvertently left off, an error which we deeply regret." Fans are welcome to re-submit their votes at http://www.americananimeawards.com/.

The American Anime Awards are intended to honor the best in anime and manga as voted on by fans. Ever since the ballot was posted, fans have raised questions about some of the nominees listed, such as Akira being listed as a comedy. Griepp addressed the concerns in a January 3rd interview with Anime News Network.

The awards will be presented at a ceremony at New York Comic Con on Saturday, February 24th. Tickets for the event are sold out.
